How to recognize the original
The growing popularity of the breed has resulted in more and more dogs called "Labradoodles" appearing on the market, which, however, have little in common with the original. Choosing a dog from an unverified source is a huge risk - both in terms of health and predictability of character and coat type.
Here is a short summary that will help you distinguish a professional breeding farm from a random pairing of dogs:
1. Registration in organizations (ALFA-Europe / ALFA-Poland)
This is the absolute basis. The original Australian Labradoodle must be registered with an organization that maintains rigorous stud books (like ALFA-Europe).
- Original: The breeder will easily provide a breeding registration certificate and the dog's multi-generational pedigree.
- Fake: The breeder explains that he does not belong to an organization "due to bureaucracy" or that he belongs to associations that do not require health tests.
2. Multigenerational
A real Australian Labradoodle is not simply a puppy from a Labrador mother and a Poodle father (the so-called F1 generation).
- Original: This is the result of careful selection lasting for several generations. Thanks to this, we can be sure that the dog will not shed and its character will be stable.
- Fake: Puppies after the first cross (F1) are a lottery - they can shed, cause severe allergies and have an unpredictable temperament.
3. Transparent health tests
For an ethical breeder, research is a pride, not a chore.
- Original: Medical documentation includes not only a basic check-up, but specialized DNA tests, joint dysplasia tests (confirmed by radiologists) and regular ophthalmological certificates.
- Fake: "Parents are healthy because the doctor says so during vaccination" is not enough. Lack of official medical certifications is the biggest red flag.
4. Price and availability
- Original: The price reflects the costs of importing unique genetic lines, dozens of expensive tests, high-quality nutrition and hundreds of hours devoted to socialization. You often have to wait for a puppy from a good breeding farm.
- Fake: The price is suspiciously low and the puppies are available immediately. This is a signal that savings were made at the expense of animal health and socialization.
5. Appearance and type of coat
- Original: The coat is single-layer (Fleece or Wool). The puppies in the litter are similar in body type and hair type.
- Fake: One litter may contain puppies with completely different types of fur - from rough and shiny to curly. This indicates a lack of genetic stabilization.

Each real Australian Labradoodle has a unique registration number, and its origin can be verified at the source, i.e. the ALFA-Europe organization. If the breeder avoids answering questions about the mother's organization - remain vigilant.
